Encounters With Remarkable Men: Photojournalist Doug Elbinger

This event is co-sponsored by the Southfield Rotary Club and Oakland Community College.

Doug Elbinger will bring you through the lens of his camera as he tells you the real stories, behind the scenes, while shooting the photos that he has taken in his 40 years as a photojournalist. His presentation  includes a diverse range; from rock and roll icons to political pundits. He will share some of these candid pictures and portraits in the new edition of his book Encounters With Remarkable Men and tell you why he considers the Rotary code of ethics and the role of integrity while actually holding back photos that he could release.

Elbinger consciously knew that he that he had a rare opportunity to document history as it unfolded. He served as staff or contract photographer under four Michigan gubernatorial administrations including Governors Miliken, Blanchard, Engler, and Granholm.
