Get Out: Comedy, Music and the Royal Oak Artist Market Show

A few ideas for a fun-filled weekend in Royal Oak.

If you're looking for something to do this weekend in Royal Oak here are a few fun options to consider so you can get out and experience some of the art, music and comedy that our city has to offer.

1. TIM NUTT

Where/when: , 310 S. Troy St.; Thursday 8 p.m., Friday 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., Saturday 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Why go: Tim Nutt will be performing this weekend in downtown Royal Oak. He appeared at the 2006 Just For Laughs Festival, where he was named one of the “Best of the Fest” and since has established himself as a must-see comedian. Also performing will be Mike Stanley.
Pricing: $10, $18

2. 

Where/when: , 316 E. 11 Mile Rd.; Friday 2-8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 
Why go: Find some beautiful art pieces and different hand-made crafts. This is a juried fine art show and some of the different mediums that will be showcased include: painting, drawing, jewelry, photography, metal, clay, collage, glass, wood, leather/fiber and mixed media.

3. SISTERS OF YOUR SUNSHINE VAPOR

Where/when: 
512 S. Washington Blvd.; Saturday 5 p.m.
Why go:  The Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapor are a local Detroit-based band with a psychedelic rock sound. The band is known for its "tripped out" creativity and for putting on a great live show. Make sure to peruse UHF's fantastic selection of vinyl, vintage posters and more while you are there. 
Pricing: Free 

4. NON NATIVE ART EXHIBITION

Where/when: BUTTER Projects Studio
814 W. 11 Mile Rd.; Saturday 7 p.m.
Why go: Experience the artwork of four non-Michiganders who are working and living in Metro Detroit. Artists to be featured include Kyohei Abe, Amy Sacksteder, Chido Johnson and Katie Phillips.  
Pricing: Free 

5. 

Where/when: , 318 W. Fourth St.; Saturday 8 p.m.
Why go: Railroad Earth is an Americana-based jam band, fusing elements of jazz, bluegrass, rock and roll, Celtic and more. Sharing the stage will be The Ragbirds, from Ann Arbor.
Pricing: $20 in advance, $25 day of show
