Have Faith? Win Tickets to Mitch Albom Movie Premiere

Nov. 16 event at the Emagine in Royal Oak will benefit two local charities. Just tell us about faith to enter to win.

Do you have a little faith? If so, you might want to enter our contest to win two tickets to the premiere of Have A Little Faith, based on Mitch Albom's best-selling nonfiction book.

The movie, which was filmed in Detroit, is described as being about a life's purpose; about losing belief and finding it again; about the divine spark inside everyone. The story was sparked by a request made of Albom to deliver the eulogy at a rabbi's funeral, which prompted him to to do some soul-searching.

Actors Laurence Fishburne, Bradley Whitford and Martin Landau are expected to attend the premiere on Nov. 16 at the . Winners of the Have a Little Faith contest will receive general admission tickets to the premiere as well as an autographed copy of Albom's book.

After the screening, the movie's stars, director Jon Avnet and Albom will discuss the film. Contest winners will be able to view the "talk back" in the theater in which they watched the movie via simulcast from the VIP theater.

Those who would like to rub elbows with the cast at a meet-and-greet reception with food and beverage, view the movie, enjoy the live "talk back" and receive a signed book can purchase a VIP ticket for $125. Proceeds benefit A Hole in the Roof Foundation and the Rabbi Albert Lewis Fund.

How to enter the contest

To enter to win a set of two tickets to the premiere of Have a Little Faith on Nov. 16, all you have to do is comment on this story about your ideas of faith and community service. Here are some questions you might ask yourself:

  • How has your faith been challenged or inspired?
  • Taking part in community service is a theme throughout Have a Little Faith. Why do you think faith-based community services are so important to public needs?
  • How can you get involved with a faith-based service organization in your area?

This contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 and older. All entries must be received by midnight Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, EDT. You may enter as many times as you like, but keep each entry to no more than 75 words each. Two winners will be selected in a random drawing. Each winner will receive two tickets to see Have a Little Faith at the Emagine Royal Oak at 6:45 p.m. Nov. 16. Retail value of each ticket is $35. Click here for .
