Where to See Oscars' Best Picture Nominees Around Royal Oak

Want to watch an Academy Award-nominated film in Royal Oak or nearby? Here's what's playing where.

There are five movie-watching weekends between now and Feb. 24. Have you seen all of the Academy Award-nominated Best Pictures yet?

You can catch all but two of the films nominated for the top prize at one of five area theaters: Emagine Royal Oak, AMC Star Theatres John R in Madison Heights, Palladium 12 in Birmingham, Uptown Theaters Birmingham or Phoenix Theatres Laurel Park Place  in Livonia.

One movie, Beasts of the Southern Wild, is already on DVD. And the final movie, the foreign language film Amour, will be coming to the nearby Maple Theater in Bloomfield Hills on Feb. 1.

The Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled for Feb. 24 in Hollywood. It will be televised live on ABC.

  • Amour: The movie is set to be released at Maple Theater in Bloomfield Hills on Feb. 1, according to the movie website.
  • Beasts of the Southern Wild: This film is available at Redbox locations in Royal Oak.
