3D Visualization Software Company Expands in Royal Oak

RTT moves 140 employees to the Howard & Howard building on Fourth Street.

A leader in 3D visualization software has selected a Fourth Street address to accommodate its explosive growth.

RTT USA is no stranger to Royal Oak. After finishing a five-year lease at the Contract Design building on Main Street, RTT has made a five-year commitment to the Howard & Howard building at 400 W. Fourth St.

Founded in 1999 in Germany, RTT it opened its first Michigan location in 2005 with eight employees. Today, the Royal Oak/Detroit branch has 140 employees. Worldwide, the company has 14 offices and approximately 700 employees.

To make room for its growing staff, the company gutted and revamped the 42,000-square-foot fourth floor of the Howard & Howard building, previously home to PNC Bank, to quadruple its facility. Employees moved into the new space in March.

'Great culture to work in'

"We are thrilled about the move and the fantastic growth in the company. RTT is happy to remain in Royal Oak. The centralized location is a great benefit to our clients throughout the metro-Detroit area," said CEO Peter Stevenson.

"We're a social group," said Hillary Forsythe, marketing director. The average age of a RTT employee is 28.

In the new expanded cafeteria, you'll find a foosball game and a vending machine with free snacks. There are also creative labs, wellness rooms and ample space for projected growth.

Being located in downtown Royal Oak, with its many restaurants, shops and bars, is considered a perk for employees, too.

"This is a great culture to work in," Forsythe said.
