Beaumont Appoints Four Vice Presidents

Sam Flanders, M.D., executive vice president; Quality, Safety and Clinical Effectiveness; Beaumont Health System and David Wood, M.D., president, Beaumont Physician Partners, have announced four new leadership appointments.

Paula J. Levesque, R.N., of Macomb Township, has been named vice president, System Quality and Patient Safety. She will focus on patient safety strategies system-wide, including patient safety event prevention, investigation, reporting and mitigation.

In 2002, she joined l, Troy as a quality data specialist. Levesque was promoted to manager, Clinical Outcomes Management and director, Safety and Clinical Quality at Beaumont Troy. She then joined Beaumont Health System’s Quality and Safety department as corporate director of External Quality Measures. Most recently she served as administrative director, System Quality and Patient Safety.

Sharon Kelln, of Birmingham, has been named vice president, Clinical Decision Support and Clinical Effectiveness.  In her new role, she will continue operational improvement support of Beaumont’s six Centers of Excellence- Digestive Health; Cancer; Heart and Vascular; Neuroscience; Women and Children; and Orthopedics. This also includes increased, system-wide support of Beaumont’s Integration Councils through quality; safety and service database management; analytics; external benchmarking; reporting and performance improvement.

In 2008, she joined Beaumont as director of Service Line Development. Later that year, she began working on clinical effectiveness initiatives. Kelln also developed the clinical decision support function to support quality, safety and service performance improvement across Beaumont Health System.

Laura Glenn, of Clarkston, has been named vice president, Physician Services, Beaumont Physician Partners. She will lead all administration functions of Beaumont Physician Partners, including integration of physician alignment, along with policy development and implementation. Her responsibilities include physician contracting, compensation and recruitment.

Since 2008, Glenn has held the position of director, Surgical Services Program Development; interim administrative director, Surgical Services; and administrative director, Beaumont Physician Partners.

Theresa Peters, of Royal Oak, has been named vice president, Physician Practice Operations, Beaumont Physician Partners. She assumes administrative oversight for Beaumont’s primary care network and employed specialty physician practices. Peters is also responsible for strengthening, standardizing and expanding physician practice operations.

She began her career with Beaumont in 1994 and has since held leadership positions in physician practice management, revenue cycle and graduate medical education. Peters has served as corporate director of Family Medicine Services and most recently as administrative director, Beaumont Physician Partners.
