Book Store to Close, but Owner is 'Still Looking'

Royal Oak Books will most likely close its doors for good in November.

In April, Pat Jonas announced, after 25 years, Royal Oak Books will be closing its doors.

Jonas, 80, was busy tending to customers Thursday morning. She figures she will close shop some time after Thanksgiving.

"Look at all these books," she said, pointing to her inventory of approximately 100,000 items, including new and used hard cover, paperback books and magazines. "I have to sell them all before I close."

"Tell your readers I am still looking," Jonas said with a smirk. "If they have a 'Gone with the Wind' first edition, I am interested."

Otherwise, Jonas said, she is not buying books at the moment.
