The Foodtruck Cafe in Berkley closed Aug. 31 after just two months in business due to a misunderstanding about management, according to co-owner Kerry Johnson. Johnson said he provided financial backing for the Woodward Avenue restaurant while a business partner handled the day-to-day management.
"It wasn't working out really well with the two of us," Johnson said. "It turned out all of the sudden I was there seven days a week. My fault was, I've never had a business partner before."
The former Cupcake Station owner said he wasn't pleased with the Foodtruck Cafe's opening and its original menu items, "but by the time I realized what was going on and tried to change it, it was too late. If I was a food guy, I would have stayed with it, but I'm not."
