Happy 30th Anniversary, Inn Season!

Popular Royal Oak cafe marks a milestone with giveaways, an open house, music and more.

will mark its 30th anniversary 6-10 p.m. today with an open house, cupcakes and other giveaways.

Food from local harvests and beverages will be served and the cafe will offer a wine tasting. The Cassini Ensemble will perform as former owners John Armstrong and Maggie O'Meara will be on hand, along with current owners Nick Raftis and executive chef Thomas Lasher. Admission is free.

“We look at this as an opportunity to thank our loyal customers and to introduce others to the creative, healthy and beautiful food of the Inn Season Cafe,” Raftis said in a Sept. 22 blog post.

The restaurant is known for its locally sourced vegetarian cuisine. For 30 years, Inn Season has enjoyed a loyal following and lines can often be seen down the sidewalk – "a testament to its enduring status as a favorite midwest destination for creative, gourmet vegetarian and vegan dining," the blog post continues

Inn Season also will be giving free cupcakes with every order on Oct. 30 and Nov. 30. All will be vegan and many are gluten-free, as well. Other weekly giveaways will continue through Nov. 30 at the restaurant and on its Facebook fan page.
