The new downtown restaurant will feature Neapolitan-style pizza above the Cloverleaf Winery on Main Street.

The chalkboard near the entrance of Pizzeria Biga in Southfield is sporting the announcement that the pizza maker is coming to Royal Oak.

Pizza, salads and pasta

Pizzeria Biga is known for its gourmet pizzas made without commercial yeasts or added sugars. The pies are baked in a 900-degree wood-burning brick oven and are considered natural and healthful, according to chef Luciano Del Signore.

The Southfield pizzeria's menu offers vegetarian and meat pizzas, along with gluten-free options. The menu also includes salads, homemade soups, calzones, pasta and eggplant, chicken and salmon entrees. Prices range from $6.95-$14.95.

"For the most part, the Royal Oak store will look like our Southfield location," said Malane. "It will have the same color scheme, but the layout will be a little different."
