Readers Choice: What's the Best Asian Food in Royal Oak?

Everyone has that dish they love – stir fry, sushi, Pad Thai, chop suey – but where's the best place to get it?

We're on a quest to rate the best of the best in Royal Oak. So far, we've asked you about such topics as car repair shops, coffee shops, barber shops, florists, tanning salons, sports bars, bike shops and family hangouts (check out all of them at What's the Best in Royal Oak).

This week, we're talking about Asian restaurants.

It can be sweet, spicy, deep fried or stir fried. Some prefer to sit down and enjoy standards such as Moo Goo Gai Pan or Chicken Chop Suey, while others like to go through takeout menus with a fine-toothed comb and search for something new to bring home and eat.

Visit Royal Oak Patch Directory to find places that serve Chinese food, sushi and other Asian dishes and then vote for your favorite spot by 9 a.m. Friday. We'll post a story later that day declaring the winner.

If we missed your favorite place, let us know in the comments section.

Click through to the profile pages of these local businesses and leave your comments there, too:

Patch has an extensive directory of local businesses, and we want all of our readers to benefit from your experience the way your neighbors do so please write a review on you places you have visited.

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on the Royal Oak Patch Directory. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch. For more, check out

How can you do this survey and leave Siam Spicy , 29838 Woodward Ave off the list ? They have been there for at least 20 years, they must be doing something right ?

Penn's Thai is the best...fun, friendly and casual environment. And most importantly the food is exceptional. Our entire family frequents her place. Lost right now with Penn in Thailand but will celebrate when she returns at the end of the month.

Would like to see the moderately priced Asian restaurants downtown improve. Noodles in my opinion is insulting. Thai on Main I have been to since my first and last visit. Siam Spicy has never been a disappointment. Peking House has changed from great to average in my opinion. Thankyou for other suggestions, will try.
