Royal Oak's Pizzeria Biga Now Offering Weekend Brunch

Brunch options include eggs pizzaiola; huevos; and Belgium waffles.

A new brunch option is available in Royal Oak starting Saturday as Pizzeria Biga introduces a breakfast/brunch menu.

The pizzeria found a fast following when it opened in April in the century-old St. Clair Edison building on Main Street. Biga specializes in Neapolitan style pizza and other Italian specialties. 

Brunch will be offered from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

The menu includes huevos, frittata, fritta di funghi, strada, eggs pizzaiola, polenta gorgonzola and smoked salmon. Prices range from $8.95-$10.95.

The "Italian Breakfast," priced at $11.95, includes bruschetta, prosciutto di parma, poached farm egg, buffalo mozzarella, olives and an arugula salad.

House-made organic granola, oatmeal, fruit, and Belgium waffles are also on the menu.

"Hats off to Chef Luciana DelSignore for once again creating wonderful menu selections currently not available in this market," said Michael Chetcuti, a partner at Pizzeria Biga. "I love the green monster juice blend, which consists of kale, seedless cucumber, a quarter of a lemon peel, Granny Smith apples
and ginger. It's yumtown."
