Thai on Main to Close after More Than a Decade in Royal Oak

The Thai restaurant will stop serving at the end of the month.

Thai on Main, which opened at 415 S. Main St. in 2001, plans to close its doors at the end of February.

Known for its Pad Thai, Gang Gai, and Drunken Noodles, the owners say they plan to look for another building in Royal Oak, preferably in a area where metered parking is not an issue.

The eatery is the sixth business since December to leave South Main Street. The others are Ariana Gallery (119 S. Main), Incognito (323 S. Main), Cold Stone Creamery (420 S. Main), Barnes & Noble (500 S. Main) and Franklin Fine Wine (511 S. Main).

Sources indicate landlord concerns and increased rent have been issues.
