is a week away and those who can't wait got a taste last night at Arts du Jour — the official charity preview.
For the second year, the was transformed into a collection of the entertainment and food choices that will be available at Arts, Beats & Eats on Labor Day weekend. Last evening's preview included musicians, dancers, eye-popping Cirque de Soleil style performers, and 50 Metro Detroit eateries, many from Royal Oak.
The event raised money and awareness for 10 Metro Detroit charities. At last year's debut, Arts du Jour raised $351,000 for community organizations.
Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson was pleased with the attendance.
"Every year it exceeds my expectations," he said.
