Viewfinder: St. Patrick's Day in Royal Oak

The city's Irish population increased today with plenty of spots to soak in their heritage.

The St. Patrick's Day holiday is one many Royal Oak businesses look forward to every year and this year with the combination of March Madness there is increased attendance at local watering holes. Here's a look at what was happening today, and what we found for you to partake in when your workday is done.

on Main Street is hosting a huge party, featuring an Irish menu and drink specials. BlackFinn manager Chris Funaro said the restaurant/bar is donating its $30 per keg fee to the Children's Leukemia Society of Michigan. He expects close to 3,000 patrons by night's end.

is another great spot to hit with plenty of green beer and more Irish menu items. "We have something for everyone. Even a vegetarian Shepherd's pie," Pronto! manager Amy Lawrence said. She expects more than 1,000 cutomers today.

At s, "We've got six barrels of green beer and more than 200 pounds of corned beef cooked and ready. We'll have DJs and the MSU game on tonight at 9:20," said Mr. B's manager Michelle Taylor.
