Weekend Planner: This is Halloween Weekend

Check out some of the spooky events going on this weekend.

So, we all know the big day is Oct. 31. But there's no need to wait any longer. There are plenty of activities going on already!

For starters, check out the first Woodward Nightmare Cruise for ugly cars 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday.

There's also Saturday's ROBHIA . Bring children and a goodie to share to parade from to for food, games and more.

  • When: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday
  • Cost: Free
  • Why go: Join the staff and volunteers at the Y for a fun filled evening of goulish fun. Door prizes, haunted house, trick-or-treating and much more. Call 248-547-0030 for more information.

  • When: 9 p.m. Saturday
  • Cost: Free
  • Why go: Join Cantina Diablos as LA Fitness presents a costume party and DJ Hush and dancing at 10 p.m. Prizes include $250 cash prize, gift cards and LA Fitness memberships for individual, group and couple costumes.

  • When: noon-2 p.m. Saturday
  • Where:
  • Cost: Free
  • Why go: It's a merry, not scary, event full of games, crafts and activities. Drop in any time and enjoy fun for the whole family.
  • What else: Registration is limited to 125. Visit www.ropl.org or call the Youth Reference Desk at 248-246-3725 to sign up for this program.


  • When: 3:15 p.m. to 5:05 p.m. Sunday
  • Where:
  • Cost: Free
  • Why go: Join the party during open skate and get a free 15 minute skating lesson. Wear a costume and get into open skate for free (no masks, no tails).

  • When: 8 p.m. Friday
  • Where:
  • Cost: $32
  • Why go: Special guest The Killer Flamingos will join the party, and a costume contest could net participants a $400 league voucher. Winners determined by audience applause for Best Group and Best Individual.
