What Do You Want to See at the Former Burger King Site?

This building at 25538 Woodward Ave. in Royal Oak would make a great ... you fill in the blank!

Royal Oak has a lot of great businesses on Woodward Avenue, but is there anything missing? A certain type of establishment or a new retail store?

This building at 25538 Woodward Ave. is in the site of a former Burger King. The 2,500-square-foot property is listed as available on showcase.com.

The one-story building built in 1972 was a popluar hangout for teens in the 1970s. Royal Oak history buffs may remember this property as the former site of the Totem Pole, which opened in 1954 and featured a 16-foot totem pole hand carved by Ojibway Chief White Wolf of St. Ignace. The restaurant introduced the “Teletray,” a 2-way speaker through which customers could order the popular Big Chief Burger, according to woodwarddreamcruise.com.
