Whimsy Boutique Closes Its Royal Oak Doors

The funky boutique closes after one year in business.

Art consignment shop Whimsy, founded by Heidi Looney and Laura Ortiz, has closed its doors to shoppers.

, opened last February.

"I am sorry to say with more sadness than you can imagine that I am closing my store, effective immediately," Ortiz wrote on Whimsy's Facebook page. "I have met some fantastic people and have had more treasured conversations with customers than I can count. If I could live on the friendship, encouragement and support you have given me as a small business owner, this store would never have to close."
