Zumba Finds Some Elbow Room Across Street

Walk-up Mexican grill plans to move around the first of next year.

is planning a move, but there's no need to worry, Zumba fans. The walk-up tacos shop in downtown Royal Oak is just scooping up a new spot across the street.

Owner Tim Castañeda said the bigger location at 304 N. Main St. will allow the establishment to add seating, but it will keep the same "line system." The 121 N. Main shop now features seating for just 10 and has a made-to-order takeout counter.

Zumba plans to move into the former Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Store in 2012, near the first of the year, Castañeda said. Oberweis opened another store at 32808 Woodward Ave., just south of 14 Mile, in 2010.
