Tips for Driving Through the Dream Cruise

So you want to drive on Woodward but don't want to get stuck all day? Follow these tips.

Dave's route to seeing the Dream Cruise without getting stuck (for too long):
From 8 Mile going north pretty easy going. Do not go under the highway! Most cars turn around at 13 Mile to go north causing a backup from 696 to 13 Mile. Get in the right lane and cut through Royal Oak by heading towards Main Street, taking a left on the service drive, turn right onto Woodward and cut through Washington Street to avoid downtown Royal Oak. Turn right on 11 Mile and left on Main then left on Crooks. Take Crooks to Big Beaver and head West. Take a right on Woodward and it is fairly open from there to Pontiac. Take the look around Pontiac and head back south again. Traffic comes to a stand still around Big Beaver so go back to Crooks, take a right on Maple, left on Coolidge and take that straight to Woodward. It will dump you south of 13 Mile and it is pretty easy going down to Ferndale. 13 Mile to 16 Mile is usually pretty solid with traffic and I avoid it unless I really want to sit for over an hour in traffic. That's my guide to getting around and seeing most of the cruise without getting stuck for too long. Parking? You have to know somebody or bring cash to pay for a spot.
