5 Things to do This Week

Here are some highlights of what is going on around Royal Oak this week.

Monday: The inaugural  continues throughout the week. The nine-day event features more than 20 participating restaurants offering a three-course meal at a discounted price. The also continues this week. Both events wrap up Saturday.

Tuesday: Registration begins at 8 a.m. for the 2011 Royal Oak Summer Day Camp, which will take place at , 1500 Lexington Blvd. Summer camp activities include outdoor skills, games, crafts, sports and swimming. For more information, call 248-246-3180.

Tuesday: The Royal Oak Historical Commission meets 7 p.m. at the , 1411 W. Webster Rd. On the agenda, include discussing the status of block grant projects, lesson plans and coloring books and time capsules.

Wednesday: The Ice Arena Oversight Committee meets 6:30 p.m. at the , 3500 Marais Ave. The ice arena is under a new contract with Suburban Sports Group.

Thursday: The Animal Shelter Committee meets 7:15 p.m. in the on the second floor of 221 E. Third St. The agenda will be posted later in the week. The committee meets on myriad of topics including the Royal Oak Animal Shelter. In February 10 cats and five dogs were adopted.
