5 Things to Do This Week

Here are some highlights of what is going on around Royal Oak this week.

Monday – State Rep. Jim Townsend (D-Royal Oak) will host his April coffee hours from 8:30-10 a.m. at Seros Restaurant, 375 W. 12 Mile Rd. in Madison Heights, and from 4:30-6 p.m. at , 401 S. Main St. in Royal Oak. All residents are invited to attend the events and discuss state governmental issues with the legislator. Tuesday – The board meets at 7 p.m. inside the library's Friends Auditorium. Agenda items include committee and liaison reports and assignments, Playaway audiobook circulation parameters and direct evaluation.

Wednesday – The senior center fundraiser will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the , 3500 Marais. Attendees will have the opportunity to shop for scarves, watches, reading glasses, earrings, bracelets, necklaces and more. Everything costs $8. For more information, call 248-246-3900.

Thursday – The city of Royal Oak will host its at 10:30 a.m. in . Residents are invited. The Arbor Day Foundation recently recognized Royal Oak as a Tree City USA community.

Saturday – The annual Mulch Out takes place from 8 a.m.-noon on the Lexington Boulevard campus. The community is invited to come out, plant trees and flowers and make the grounds look nice. No equipment is needed, just show up and help out.
