5 Things to Know This Week: City Meetings, Craft Show, Open House

There's a lot going on in Royal Oak this week. What do you have planned?

It's a busy week in Royal Oak, as usual. Here are five things you should know as you go about your week:

  1. City Commission meets Monday: The City Commission meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Click here for the agenda.
  2. Nature Society lecture on Wedneday: Learn about “Insects in Your Backyard”  at 7:30 p.m. at the Royal Oak Middle School. Join Joyce and Don Drife, Royal Oak Nature Society botanists, as they explore a suburban backyard looking for insects and spiders. The event is free to the public.
  3. Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meets Thursday: The Parks Master Plan is on the agenda. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Mahany/Meininger Senior Center. Click here for the agenda.
  4. Hearts & Flowers Craft Show is Saturday: Check out the Hearts & Flowers Craft Show, along with Antiques & Collectibles, at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. Hours for this event are from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free. For additional information call 248-246-3276.
  5. Orson Starr House Museum Open House on Sunday: Enjoy an exhibit of antique Valentine’s Day greeting cards at the Orson Starr House Museum (3123 N Main Street, one block South of 13 Mile Road) from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. For more information contact Lois Lance 248-546-0138,
