Here's what's happening in Royal Oak this week.

There's always a lot going on in Royal Oak. Here are some highlights this week:

1. City Commission meets Monday: The commission starts meeting at at 6 p.m. with a closed session to discuss pending litigation and collective bargaining matters. Then it's a short agenda for the public meeting that starts at 7:30 p.m. See agenda attached.

2. Time Capsule fundraiser on Thursday from 7-10 p.m. at the Royal Oak home of Michael Chetcuti and Kyle Evans, presented by the Friends of the . Tickets are $100 and available at the library or by contacting Jay Dunstan at jay@dunstan.me or call (248) 990-8210.

3. Shakespeare in the Park opens Thursday: Celebrating 10 years of Shakespeare in the Park, the Water Works Theatre Company presents three weeks of shows this summer in Royal Oak's Starr-Jaycee Park July 21-Aug. 7. More details at http://www.waterworkstheatre.com

4. Laugh with J Chris Newberg: The Birmingham native and American's Got Talent contestant is scheduled to perform at this weekend. In addition to AGT, this guitarist/songwriter/comedian has been on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Comedy Central. Tickets are $15.

5. Enter a Patch contest: You could win two tickets to see l on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Youths ages 8-18 will perform in the show that depicts the Disney Channel Original Movie in which campers will prepare for the ultimate talent showdown. .
