  1. Auditions for  Shakespeare in the Park Monday: Auditions will be held from 4-10 p.m. at the Royal Oak First United Methodist Church, 320 W. Seventh St., Royal Oak. Call backs will be March 18. Click here for more information.
  2. Planning Commission meets Tuesday: The Planning Commission meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Click here for the agenda.
  3. Street Eats on Wednesday: It's a food truck rally from 5-9 p.m. at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. Bring the whole family for a gathering of Metro Detroit's finest food trucks and a variety of affordable food.
  4. Friends' Annual Book Sale Thursday through Saturday: Visit the Royal Oak Public Library for gently used books and media in the Friends Auditorium and Youth Activity Room. Proceeds of the sale will benefit library programs and services. The members-only preview is Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. Memberships are available at the door. Regular sale hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday. The $5 bag sale is all day Saturday. For more information or to volunteer, call the library at 248-246-3700.
  5. St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday: Time to get your green on. Come out to celebrate as the Norman O'Brien Division of the Ancient Order of Hiberians hosts the Oakland County St. Patrick's Day Parade. The parade begins at the Royal Oak Middle School parking lot and proceeds south on Washington, passing the judges/announcer reviewing stand at the intersection of Sixth and Washington before turning west on Seventh and ending at the St. Mary Catholic School parking lot. The parade starts at 11:30 a.m. Arrive early for a good spot to watch the parade.
