Arts, Beats & Eats Announces Price Hike

festival goers who can't fight that feeling anymore to see will have to pay extra.

The Labor Day weekend festival announced a hike in the admission fee structure Wednesday to offset a gap in sponsorship funds. The fee for full access to the festival after 5 p.m. will be $5, which is a $2 increase. 

The admission fee before 5 p.m. on Saturday through Monday will remain $3, and admission before 5 p.m. on Friday is free.

“The $5 fee will generally apply to the evening crowd looking to get a great value for their money in the form of the outstanding music acts taking to the concert stages throughout the festival during prime time,” said festival producer Jon Witz in a press release. “The increase will help to offset a shortfall in sponsorship funds in our $1.8 million budget this year.”

Royal Oak will get a taste of over 150 artists playing across 10 stages over a four-day period. In addition to REO Speedwagon, headliners include Theory of a Deadman, The Guess Who, Travis Tritt, Mayor Hawthorne & The County, Morris Day & The Time, G. Love & Special Sauce, along with . Detroit deaf hip-hop artist Sean Forbes will also perform.

The cost to park in all downtown lots and structures will continue to be $15. Remote parking at is $10 and includes a free shuttle to the festival. The shuttle wil not be running on Friday.
