City Commission Meeting, Bowlabration and More This Week

There's a lot going on in Royal Oak this week. What do you have planned?

It's a busy week in Royal Oak, as usual. Here are five things you should know as you go about your week:

  1. Spring break this week: Sticking close to home for Spring Break? You're in luck. Area businesses are offering savings for Royal Oak youth during the recess. Click here for coupons courtesy of the Royal Oak Community Coalition.
  2. City Commission meets Monday: The City Commission meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Click here for the agenda.
  3. Teen Volunteer Night on Thursday: Middle and high school students are encouraged to help with behind-the-scenes tasks at the Royal Oak Public Library and log service hours for school at 6:30 pm. Tasks will vary and can include preparing crafts for youth programs, shelving DVDs and straightening shelves. Registration is limited to 25. Visit ropl.org or call the Youth and Teen Services at 248-246-3725 to sign up for this free program.
  4. Friends of the Royal Oak Public Library fundraiser on Thursday: Everyone is encouraged to support the Friends of the Royal Oak Public Library at Noodles & Company in downtown Royal Oak from 4:00-9:00 p.m. Simply place a dine-in or takeout order, mention the Friends of ROPL, and Noodles & Company will donate 25 percent of the sale to the Friends.
  5. Bowlabration on Sunday: The Royal Oak Optimists Club presents their 2012 Bowlabration at 1:30 p.m. at Astro Lanes at 32388 John R. in Madison Heights.  The cost of $30 per bowler includes two games of bowling, rental shoes, pizza, and pop.
