City Commission Meets, Vietnam Memorial Arrives in Royal Oak and More

There's a lot going on in Royal Oak this week. What do you have planned?

It's a busy week in Royal Oak, as usual. Here are five things you should know as you go about your week:

  1. City Commission meets Monday: The City Commission meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Click here for the agenda.
  2. Molly's Mile on Monday: The Addams Elementary community will join together and celebrate Molly Brinker as the Oakland County Teacher of the Year at 5:45 p.m. with a one-mile run and pasta dinner to follow.
  3. Vietnam Memorial on Display Tuesday through Thursday: The Michigan Traveling Vietnam Wall is coming to Royal Oak for public viewing daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 21-23 on the west porch of the Royal Oak Farmers Market.
  4. Relay for Life fundraiser on Thursday: The Royal Oak Jaycees will hold a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life from 7-11 p.m. at located at 530 South Main St. For a donation of $10, participants will get a wristband good for drink specials and free appetizers. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
  5. Flag placing on Saturday: Volunteersare needed to place flags on veterans' markers beginning at 10 a.m. at Oakview Cemetery.
