Franklin Fine Wine Offers Dog Walkers a Window of Opportunity

Downtown Royal Oak business caters to dog walkers, late-night munchers and customers on the go.

Franklin Fine Wine & Cafe's walk-up window is open for business in downtown Royal Oak.

"The whole purpose of the window is for people walking dogs," said Rita Soka. "We want to accommodate them and have a window open for them."

Not only can dog walkers purchase gourmet pizza, deli sandwiches, ice cream and salads through the window, staff will also grab candy, a can of pop or other items sold in the store.

"We used to see people walking dogs that wanted to come in but they couldn't. As soon as we opened the window, we started getting their business," Soka said.

The window has also been popular with the late-night bar crowd looking for a slice of pizza, she said.
