This weekend Arts, Beats & Eats will be taking over downtown Royal Oak for a fun family weekend. If the festival isn't your thing there are plenty of other fun happenings nearby.

Why go: Grab the family and go see the largest outdoor dinosaur exhibit of its kind in the country. There are more than 30 animatronic life-sized dinosaurs, kids will be able to excavate a dino dig site and sift for fossils, check out interesting biofacts including dinosaur teeth, claws and skulls, plus you get to walk through a simulated dinosaur rib cage!
Pricing: $4 plus regular zoo admission: adults $12, seniors $10, children 2-14 years old $8.

When/where: Thursday 10 p.m.,
Why go: in Royal Oak will be closed during Arts, Beats & Eats but you can get your comedy fix in fabulous Ferndale. The improv theater will feature a night of stand-up comedy hosted by Joel Fragomeni. Get ready to laugh the night away.

When/where: Friday 8 p.m.,
Why go: Get your groove on at the Sunset Lounge, enjoy dancing and a variety of specialty martinis. Music is provided by DJ Urban Kris.

When/where: Midnight Friday,
Why go: After Arts, Beats & Eats winds down for the evening head over to the Main Art Theatre at midnight to see Back to the Future.
