Is It Winter Yet? The Latest on Roads, Weather in Royal Oak

Update, 1 p.m.: The sun is back out and drying up wet spots around town. The next chance of snow is Thursday night and Friday morning.

Update, 11 a.m.: Roads are clear in Royal Oak and all weather warnings and advisories are no longer in effect, according to the National Weather Service.

Update, 10 a.m.: Royal Oak Director Greg Rassel said there was no issue with the light dusting of snow the city saw this morning, but the department is busy getting prepared for bigger snowfalls in the near future.

“We are getting our snowplows ready and hopefully the weather will hold so we can complete next week,” he said. The last pickup is scheduled for Dec. 9.

5:30 a.m.: Royal Oak was expected to awake to a wintry mix of snow, rain and even ice this morning — on the heels of a windy and very rainy day plagued by flooded streets around town.
