Local Students Named to Albion College Dean's List

Albion College, located in south central Michigan, has named several area students to the dean's list for the fall 2012 semester.

The following local students were named to Albion College's Dean's list for the fall 2012 semester. Students named to the Dean's List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above at the completion of the semester. This GPA must be based on at least three units in graded courses and a minimum of four units completed.

  • Bailey Ahmad is majoring in political science and minoring in history. She is the daughter of Jay Ahmad of Royal Oak and Mary Ellen Aria of Howell and a graduate of Mercy High School.
  • Austin Bateman is majoring in music education and minoring in applied music ed and psychology education, with concentrations in the Fritz Shurmur Center for Teacher Development K-12 certification program and the Fritz Shurmur Center for Teacher Development secondary certification program. He is the son of Paul and Linda Bateman of Royal Oak and a graduate of Royal Oak High School.
  • Alexandra Carey is majoring in communication (professional communication/production emphasis). She is the daughter of Patrick Carey of Royal Oak and Lynne Vartarian of Birmingham and a graduate of Marian High School.
  • Nolan Jones is a first-year student at Albion College. He is the son of Gregg and Ardene Jones of Royal Oak and a graduate of Royal Oak High School.
  • Rebecca Kosticak is majoring in history and political science, with concentrations in the Law, Justice and Society program and the Gerald R. Ford Institute for Leadership in Public Policy and Service. She is the daughter of John and Brenda Kosticak of Royal Oak and a graduate of Royal Oak High School.
  • Anne Sutherland is majoring in psychology and minoring in paleontology. She is the daughter of Kevin and Jennie Sutherland of Royal Oak and a graduate of Shrine High School.
