MDOT Launches Blog to Share, Chat With Metro Detroiters

#MetroMerge will allow residents and MDOT to interact on transportation issues.

The Michigan Department of Transportation has launched a new blog to allow residents to talk about transportation issues.

The blog, #MetroMerge, is MDOT's hope to increase outreach to residents of MDOT's Metro Region, which includes Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and St. Clair counties. It can be read at www.michigan.gov/metromerge.

MDOT already has a dedicated MDOT Metro Region Twitter site: www.twitter.com/MDOT_MetroDet.

"To expand our social media footprint we have created an informal community page as a way to share information with you on all things transportation-related in the Metro Detroit Region," said Metro Region Engineer Tony Kratofil. "Through this blog we will be able to share the most up-to-date news with the public and respond to their comments."

#MetroMerge will not only contain posts on region-related transportation topics, but also will have helpful tips on the region's most-asked questions from the public. Readers are encouraged to send their feedback to the email address provided in each post, as well as to the MDOT Metro Region Twitter page, or MDOT Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MichiganDOT).
