Military Couples Sought for 11/11/11 Wedding
Royal Oak Music Theatre to host ceremonies for 11 couples who were nominated for Veterans Day event. Applications due by July 1.
Military couples who want to make their upcoming wedding day extra special can consider having their ceremony on Veterans Day - 11/11/11 this year, courtesy of the the Royal Oak Music Theatre.
The venue is accepting submissions from interested couples through July 1 and winning couples will be notified by July 8. The theater's “A Call To Wed” – a free wedding and reception on for 11 lucky, recently engaged military couples – is open to active duty or veterans.
The multi-nuptial event will provide the 11 selected couples an evening to remember as they are married in a group setting in the historic Royal Oak Music Theatre. After the ceremony each couple along with 30 of their invited guests will be treated to a reception in the theater’s main auditorium featuring a full dinner, drinks and dancing.

Submission guidelines for couples interested in being selected as one of the lucky wedding couples for the Royal Oak Music Theatre’s “A Call To Wed” are:
- The bride- or groom-to-be must have military status – active duty or a veteran. Please include military status, years of service, military branch. Disabled veterans are encouraged to apply as well.
- Names, hometowns and contact information of bride- and groom-to-be
- Submit a letter that is no longer than 1,500 words about your relationship and why you want to be married on Veteran’s Day.
- Applications are due by July 1 to the Royal Oak Music Theatre via mail (318 W. Fourth St., Royal Oak, MI 48067 Attn. Jessica Miller) or email at jessie@royaloakmusictheatre.com
The Royal Oak Music Theatre is donating the venue for the evening, along with providing all production, house and bar staff. – has enlisted the assistance of many generous local business sponsors to make the wedding extra special for the couples, including free valet parking for guests courtesy of Extravagante Valet, DJ / music provided by Mike Staff Productions, event décor by Colonial Event Rentals and photography by Steve Kaufman Photography.
