Update: More Snow Coming Tonight

Forecast calls for 2-5 inches of snow during winter weather advisory.

More snow is on its way to the Royal Oak area tonight and Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Between 2-5 inches of snow fall is expected through the Woodward Avenue corridor in Oakland County. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for 2-11 a.m. Friday. Snowfall is expected to continue Saturday, and forecasts call for a rain  Sunday night and into Monday. High wind gusts are also expected Friday afternoon, which could reach up to 30 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, "a winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities … and use caution while driving." The bulk of the snow is expected between 3-9 a.m., likely making the Friday morning rush hour a slow and slippery trek.
