New Main Street Boutique Offers European Flair in Royal Oak

Shop owner Dessi Salzmann specializes in artistic fashion constructions.

A self-described fashion retail trailblazer is moving to Main Street in Royal Oak.

Dessi Salzmann has owned and operated a quaint studio boutique in Birmingham since 2010 and is currently in the process of moving to Royal Oak at 806 N. Main St., formerly the home of H&R Block.

Salzmann is building the interior of the dress studio herself—in her backyard, she said. She is waiting on a new awning and few other pieces to come together before she officially opens her doors to the public. At the moment Salzmann is working by appointment only.

Salzmann says she works with clients to create more with less pieces. You don’t need a warehouse full of garments to be stylish, just the right selection of a few well thought out pieces, she said.

When the boutique opens, look for handpicked edgy and eccletic fashion from Germany, were Salzmann is from, as well as Italy, France, New York and Los Angeles.
