Police Blotter: Sledder Injured While Being Pulled By Pickup, Thefts and More

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:

Sledder Injured

Area of Pinehurst & Crooks, Dec. 28:  Someone reported an injury accident involving young adults being pulled on sleds behind a pickup truck.  Investigation revealed a group of young adults were being pulled through the snow on sleds behind a pickup truck.  One of the individuals on a sled had hit a parked car and received minor injuries.  This individual was transported to William Beaumont Hospital for treatment.  The driver of the pickup was arrested for reckless driving and the three individuals on the sleds were issued tickets.  

Purses, cell phone, bike stolen

Fifth Avenue Bar, 215 W. Fifth, Dec. 29:  A woman reported someone had stolen her wallet from her purse while she was at the bar.

200 block of N. Minerva, Dec. 29:  Someone reported jewelry and a State of Michigan issued Bridge Card had been stolen from the residence.  An acquaintance is believed to be the suspect in the larceny. 

Sullivan & Sons Funeral Home - 705 W. 11 Mile, Dec. 31:  A woman reported her cell phone was stolen while she was attending a funeral.

3500 block of W. 13 Mile, Jan. 1:  A woman reported someone stole her pink 60’s style women’s bicycle.  

Laptop, power tools and more taken from vehicles

3000 block of Benjamin, Dec. 29:  A woman reported someone smashed the passenger window to her 2012 Chrysler Town & Country minivan while it was parked in the driveway overnight.  The suspect stole the In-dash GPS navigational unit. 

Gordon Food Service, 4849 Crooks, Dec. 30:  A woman reported someone stole the catalytic convertor from her Chevy Cavalier while it was parked in the lot during the day. 

1400 block of Etowah, Jan. 2: A woman reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole the factory stereo while the vehicle was parked in the driveway. 

900 block of Fernwood, Jan. 2:  A woman reported someone stole a laptop computer from her unlocked and running vehicle while it was parked on the street in front of her home. 

1200 block of E. 13 Mile, Jan. 2:  A man reported someone stole numerous power tools from the bed of his pick-up truck while it was parked in his driveway. 

Malicious damage to property

5000 block of Thorncroft, Dec. 31:  A woman reported someone had damaged parts of her home during an underage party.  Alcohol was a factor in this incident and an individual was injured from being struck in the head by a beer bottle by someone.
