Santa Brings Holiday Spirit to Town with Parade

Beautiful Sunday afternoon brings out thousands to pack route for Royal Oak's traditional pre-Thanksgiving events.

"Is there any better city than Royal Oak?" shouted Grand Marshal Jay Towers, anchor of Fox 2 News Weekend and morning host on Fresh 100.3. "And, is there any better place to have a parade?"

Towers, along with Mayor Jim Ellison and members of the Royal Oak City Commission, welcomed Santa and Mrs. Claus to downtown Royal Oak on Sunday afternoon as the crowd cheered. The couple arrived by float in the Holiday Magic Parade, which brings over 20,000 people to downtown each year to kick off the holiday season.

"Who do we thank for this beautiful weather?" Ellison asked.
