Update: Weather Advisory Still in Effect

Despite the lack of ice on major Royal Oak roadways, slippery patches are still a possibility as rain turns to snow around midday today.

A Winter Weather Advisory continues through noon today for Royal Oak, despite the presence of significantly hazardous conditions.

Patches of ice were all around Royal Oak this morning, but overall main roadways appeared just wet.

The National Weather Service is keeping the advisory in place. It calls for light precipitation as a mix of rain and snow with patchy sleet and freezing rain still a possibility. The precipitation is expected to change to mainly snow by midday with minor snow accumulation is expected.

Although temperatures will reach above freezing, untreated or less traveled roads could be slippery.

The high today is expected to near 36 degrees with a 14 degree low expected tonight.
