What Do You Want to See at the Blockbuster Site?

This building at 27942 Woodward Ave. in Royal Oak would make a great ... you fill in the blank!

The Blockbuster at 27942 Woodward Ave. will close Mar. 24. What should go in its place?

Dish Network Corp., which owns Blockbuster, plans to close 21 stores in Michigan this spring The closures, including the Royal Oak location, are part of an announced plan to close 300 stores across the country.

With just over a month remaining before Blockbuster closes its doors, it's time to weigh in on what visions you have for this storefront. What does Royal Oak need that could fit this space?

A hardware store that stocks items that we can use to repair or replace original items in our Royal Oak homes.

No one will come in and beat Frentz and Sons for that John.

I want them to put in a Larry Flynt Hustler Club like the one in Lincoln Park. It is a classy joint with good food and it stinks to have to drive so far for quality entertainment.

I agree John. Frentz and Sons does not always have what we need to fix or rerplace things in our 100yr old home. It would be nice to be able to find items without having to wait for a special order.

A stable, profitable, long term business that meets ordinances and doesn't annoy the neighbors, business or residential. Welcome to RO ?, hope "you" succeed.

If RO was efficient, the city would already have the planning director already out there recruiting a business that fills a void in this city. Instead, he is busy planning the holiday parade, Arts, Beats & Eats, putting up Christmas lights, etc, etc.

The city won't do anything proactive, and we'll end up with yet another wholesale mattress store. Yippee!
