Wind Chill Advisory in Effect for Southeast Michigan
The wind chill is expected to hit as low as 25 degrees below zero.
A wind chill advisory is in effect for Royal Oak and much of southeast Michigan, the National Weather Service announced Monday evening.
The NWS reports that this "shot of arctic air ... will be the coldest of the season."
Temperatures will drop to the single digits and as low as -5 heading into Tuesday morning. The wind chill is expected to hit as low as 25 degrees below zero.

The wind chill advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. Tuesday in several counties, including: Wayne, Washtenaw, Macomb, Oakland, Livingston and Genesee.
The NWS warns that prolonged skin exposure to the cold can result in frostbite and hypotermia. It's recommended that exposure to the elements is limited and that hats and gloves be worn.
