Woodward Avenue Resurfacing Work Begins in May

The Michigan Department of Transportation project will include Royal Oak.

The Michigan Department of Transportation will begin a resurfacing project along Woodward Avenue next month.

The $4.8 million project will impact more than 5 miles of roadway between 14 Mile Road and Oakridge Boulevard in the cities of Royal Oak, Berkley, Huntington Woods and Pleasant Ridge and last through November, according to MDOT.

"The project includes concrete island repairs, concrete pavement repairs, resurfacing, installation of new pavement markings, and ramp and sidewalk improvements compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act," an MDOT press release says.
