Citizen Science Patrol: The Little Things You Can Do To Protect Water Quality
The Michigan Science Center
(Mi-Sci) is developing a new volunteer program – Citizen Science Patrol –
focused on civic projects with a science emphasis. Its first initiative calls
on local residents to volunteer in neighboring communities and help test water
quality this fall. On Aug. 17, the Clinton River Watershed Council’s
program director will lead a presentation at Mi-Sci, where attendees can learn
how lawn and garden practices can help protect water quality. During the
presentation, the Council will discuss how the way people care for yards, pets
and cars affects the quality of lakes, rivers and streams and how to become
environmental stewards.
