“The Fish Communities of the Rouge River”

“The Fish Communities of the Rouge

River”
is
being held on Wednesday, November 6th,
2013 beginning 7:30 pm at the Royal Oak
Middle School
(709 N. Washington between 11 Mile Rd & Catalpa).  The Rouge is Michigan’s most polluted river.  Who would think that it is one of only three
rivers in Michigan to have the endangered Redside Dace.   The Rouge is also the home of our newest
invasive fish, the Mummichog.  The Rouge
is really a fascinating river that flows close to Royal Oak with an amazing

diversity of fishes.  Come learn about
these fishes and why Bob Muller, our Nature Society naturalist, has spent the
last two summers jumping into it.
