A Detroit Free Press report about differing union perspectives over emphasizing jobs or environmental and social issues includes this statement by Laborer's union president Terry O'Sullivan:

"[He was] repulsed by some of our supposed bothers and sisters lining up with job killers like the Sierra Club and the Natural Resources Defense Council to destroy the lives of working men and women."

Michigan Labor newspaper comments on national political campaign
"Romney takes aim at unions during Michigan campaign" and "Positive story of unions has been drowned in a sea of corporate money" are two of the headlines on page one of The Building Tradesman, the official publication of the Michigan Building and Construction Trades Council.

"I'll fight for right-to-work laws," The Tradesman quotes Romney as saying.

Under another heading, "Romney picks up ABC's endorsement," the opening paragraph says, "Specifically citing Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney's anti-union stands, the nation's top anti-worker construction group, the Associated Builders and Contractors, has endorsed his candidacy for the GOP nomination."
