Will we see a local drive for gay marriage or for a gay rights ordinance? What says Versagi Voice?
Not this year, but I expect one member of CITCOM to make a move next year, citing the changing public mood. In the year 2000, Royal Oak made a pass at a human rights ordinance. Reviewing that history will be useful, whatever your viewpoint.
How could you!
Some of my readers who were pleased that Versagi Voice provided Mike Andrzejak and Chuck Semchena space for tens of thousands of words over several weeks to make their case re bars and downtown are displeased that I praised Mayor Jim Ellison's State of the City speech, which, in part, took a contrary position.
What? You mean there aren't three or four sides to this issue?
Frank Versagi is the editor of Versagi Voice.
I'm certain the current city commission would love another bite at the apple, but recognize that revisiting the human rights issue right now may jeopardize their millage request.
