Main Street Square Condominium Association Resolution on the Proposed I696/Woodward Development

On April 7, 2014 the Main Street Square Condominium Association Board of Directors voted to adopt the following resolution regarding the proposed development at the I696/Woodward interchange:

Resolution

The Main Street Square Condominium Association Board of Directors recommends the DDA's I696/Woodward lot not be used for the development of rental units such as apartments. If living units are to be built there, they should be condominiums that will attract permanent, long term residents to Royal Oak.
We believe people who purchase their residence in Royal Oak will likely live here longer, develop roots here; helping to mitigate some of the transient aspects of our city that may develop with apartments and long term residential hotels.

We believe that those who purchase their residence and directly pay property taxes will be more concerned with and may participate more in activities to develop long term improvements in the quality of life within Royal Oak.
