Classic Car Clubhouse to Raise Money for COTS

The  will host a classic car show and open house at its 14,000 square foot facility to benefit the non-profit organization “Coalition On Temporary Shelter (COTS).”  The event will take place Aug. 9 from 5 - 8 p.m..

Money raised at the event will be used by COTS to help purchase 350 unwrapped gifts for kids this Christmas.  In addition to a display of classic cars and private tours of the facility, food will be available for purchase from the famous Green Zebra food truck. Santa also will be on-site to visit with children and take early Christmas requests.

Founded in 1982, COTS (cotsdetroit.org) is a private, non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, as well as comprehensive support services for the homeless and at-risk population.  It provides more than 40,000 nights of emergency shelter for more than 2,000 men, women and children annually. COTS also exists to advocate for long-term solutions to the problems of homelessness.

“Part of our mission is to build a strong sense of camaraderie, networking, education, and support, while helping make a difference in our community for the less fortunate,” said Joe Polito, manager and founding member.  “The reason of the event is to unite all types of classic car enthusiasts for the purpose of philanthropy, to share their enthusiasm for cars, and to help support a very much needed non-profit that contributes so much to the problem of homelessness.”
