Community Corner

Easter Seals' 4th Annual Walk With Me Detroit

You can help set the pace to support people with disabilities, mental illness or other special needs so they can live, learn, work and play in their communities. Sign-up today and volunteer to walk side-by-side with other caring Detroit-area residents who have committed to participate in Easter Seals Michigan's Walk With Me Detroit 2012.

This year's family-friendly event is being held at the scenic the Detroit Zoo on Saturday, September 22, 2012. Ask your friends, family members and neighbors to follow your lead and become a champion for individuals and families who benefit from Easter Seals' leading therapy and program services. Together we can keep in stride with one another, offering hope to people with disabilities.

Last year alone, more than 23,000 people marched side-by-side in Easter Seals Walk With Me events across the country. Thanks to their diligence and dedication, a remarkable $3.8 million was raised for Easter Seals nationally, including nearly $60 thousand earned by devoted Detroit-area walkers. Each person stepped onto the path as a compassionate volunteer, but finished as a hero.
