Royal Oak Nurse Honored for Performance Excellence

The award established two years ago is named in honor of Clara Bryant Ford, the wife of auto pioneer Henry Ford, who helped open Henry Ford Hospital's School of Nursing in 1925.

Royal Oak resident Rebecca White, R.N., a Henry Ford Hospital nurse manager, was recently presented with a Clara Ford Nursing Excellence Award for performance excellence.

White was among seven registered nurses to receive the award, which represents Henry Ford’s seven pillars of performance excellence. She was honored in the pillar of community for spending her free time as a volunteer for Ferncare and the American Red Cross. As part of her award nomination, White was described by her colleagues as an exceptional person with a big heart, who has an enormous capacity for giving

The award was established in 2012 to honor seven Henry Ford nurses for their dedication to their patients, community and organization. It is named in honor of Clara Bryant Ford, wife of auto pioneer Henry Ford, who was an advocate of Henry Ford Hospital’s School of Nursing, which she helped open in 1925.
